Stir in salt, pepper and garlic. I used both sweet potato and regular potato. It is easy to make hash brown in the oven and to make a large amount at once
Ingredients for 10 servings 1 ½ lb yukon gold potato, peeled and cut into 1-inch (2 cm) pieces 2 cloves garlic, peeled 5 cups cold water salt, to taste ½ cup butter, cubed 1 cup heavy cream 2 ½ cups shredded cheese, such as Swiss, Comté, Fontina or Gruyère
